Concord, NH — Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald announces that Thomas J. Donovan, Director of Charitable Trusts, will be accepting public comment on the proposed transaction to sell the charitable assets of Frisbie Memorial Hospital (“Frisbie”) to FMH Health Services, LLC which is an affiliate of a for-profit corporation, HCA Healthcare, Inc. (“HCA”).
On October 23, 2019, Frisbie filed a notice of the proposed acquisition transaction with the Attorney General’s Office. State law requires that the Director of Charitable Trusts review acquisition transactions involving health care charitable trusts. The notice, which includes, among other things, the Asset Purchase Agreement, Statement of Hospital Charitable Objects, and an Executive Summary may be found here: Department of Justice.

The Attorney General also announces that the Director of Charitable Trusts will host a public hearing on Monday, January 6, 2020 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm at Spaulding High School, 130 Wakefield Street, Rochester, New Hampshire. Members of the public are encouraged to attend the public hearing.
In the event of inclement weather, the public hearing will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, from 4:00pm - 6:00pm at Spaulding High School, 130 Wakefield Street, Rochester, New Hampshire. Notification of any change in the public hearing schedule will be posted to the Charitable Trusts Unit website.
