HCA Healthcare’s Capital Division today announced the completion of the purchase of Frisbie Memorial Hospital, further enhancing its position as a leader in providing community healthcare excellence in New Hampshire.

Frisbie Memorial Hospital (FMH) is a 112-licensed bed acute care facility in Strafford County. The hospital was founded in 1916 by Dr. Water Roberts and nurse Minnie Eagle to serve the needs of the Rochester community.

As part of the purchase, HCA Healthcare has committed to constructing a psychiatric area in the FMH ER, replacing the current MRI, and constructing a pharmacy clean room. These improvements will permit FMH to provide much needed, new services to the Rochester community including behavioral health.

“For more than 100 years Frisbie Memorial Hospital has served the Rochester community and, together, we are excited to continue this legacy of caring for many years to come,” said Tim McManus, HCA Healthcare’s Capital Division president.

In addition, a key component of the agreement is the establishment of a new foundation that would provide substantial annual investments dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the citizens of Rochester.

“HCA Healthcare is a best-in-class healthcare operator that offers advantages on a scale that would be difficult, if not impossible, to achieve otherwise,” said Brian Hughes, Board Chair of Frisbie Memorial Hospital. “We are excited for the future, but we are thankful for all those who showed such great dedication through this transition.”

Jeff Scionti, previously CEO at HCA Healthcare’s Parkland Medical Center, has been named CEO of Frisbie Memorial Hospital. “I am proud and honored to be taking on the responsibility of Frisbie Memorial Hospital CEO, and to be able to work with such a professional and talented team of staff, physicians, advanced practitioners, and volunteers.” said Jeff Scionti, newly named CEO to Frisbie. “The agreement to bring Frisbie into the HCA Healthcare family will allow Frisbie to continue its 100 years of service to the community for the future generations.”

The division is working closely and in partnership with hospital leadership, employees, and physicians to ensure a smooth transition for patients and the community. Frisbie Memorial Hospital is located at 11 Whitehall Road in Rochester, NH. The purchase also includes 1 urgent care & occupational health clinic, 2 walk-in clinics, 15 practice locations, and 2 offsite lab draw centers throughout Strafford County.
