Our therapeutic and rehabilitation services
We offer speech, physical and occupational therapy services to support your recovery goals. Our comprehensive care team includes highly skilled physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, nutritionists, social workers and rehabilitation nurses.
Hemodialysis
For patients who need dialysis during inpatient rehabilitation, our Acute Rehabilitation Center offers on-site hemodialysis as part of your care plan. This allows you to continue your rehabilitation while receiving dialysis support close to your care team.
Occupational therapy
Our inpatient rehabilitation occupational therapists will support you in regaining independence in your daily skills, such as feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting routines and home management. These activities are essential to success within your home and community.
Your occupational therapist will offer modifications and adaptations as well as exercises to help improve your overall independence. You and your goals matter to us.
Physical therapy
Physical therapy in an acute inpatient rehabilitation facility helps you regain strength, balance and mobility after illness, injury or surgery. Physical therapists work closely with occupational therapists, speech therapists, nurses and doctors to support your recovery.
Our goal is to help you return home safely. With support from your care team, you can build strength, practice daily activities and work toward greater independence — helping reduce the level of assistance you may need from family members or caregivers.
Therapy sessions may include walking, transfers, stairs, car transfers and training to help you get back to your daily routine. We are also able to treat dizziness, provide prosthetic and orthotic training and recommend any home equipment you may need, like walkers, wheelchairs and other safety devices.
Speech therapy
Our inpatient rehabilitation speech-language pathologists will evaluate and treat memory impairments that affect daily activities, receptive and expressive aphasia, cognitive impairments and swallowing dysfunctions. Our speech and language pathologists develop an individualized treatment plan to support your personal goals for returning to your daily life.
Interdisciplinary bedside team conferences
This is a unique and individualized conversation that occurs once per week with you and your care team. We spend this time discussing your progress, goals and barriers to a successful recovery.
In each conference, you can expect to see your doctor, registered nurse, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, nutritionist and your case manager. This conference allows us to determine what you need to return home, including any required post-discharge services and medical equipment.
Getting back to what you love is an important part of recovery. Frisbie Memorial Hospital’s Acute Rehabilitation Center will help you do that.
