Comprehensive maternity care
Our highly-skilled, patient-focused team of obstetricians, obstetric nurses, family physicians and pediatric specialists are recognized for their clinical expertise and commitment to delivering family-centered care. We want your pregnancy and birthing experience to be memorable.
Our private and spacious birthing rooms are specially designed to provide you and your family with a warm environment, while offering all of the amenities that will make your delivery and stay at our hospital comfortable and convenient. Highlights of our birthing rooms include:
- Private bathroom with shower
- Private hydrotherapy tubs for gentle massage
- Postpartum rooms that include a double bed and trundle bed for overnight stays
- Rocking chair
- Sofa bed
- TV/CD/DVD player
The security of both you and your baby is a high priority during your stay, which is why the unit is secured 24/7. All visitors into the unit must check-in with a nurse.

Specialized birthing plans
Having your baby at Frisbie Memorial Hospital means you will receive special attention from our birthing team who will work with you to develop a personalized birth plan. The goal of this plan is to clarify your birthing preferences and personal needs throughout labor and delivery.
The birthing center offers a full range of birthing options and services. Your doctors and nurses will discuss these options with you to help you choose the ones that would be most appropriate for your unique labor and delivery experience, including:
- Birthing ball
- Epidural anesthesia
- Heat therapy
- Laboring in water
- Medications for safe labor
To celebrate the birth of your child, our coordinators will arrange a special celebration dinner delivered to your room. This special event celebrates the first time you dine together as a family.
A doula is someone experienced with the birthing process, who has specialized training to assist new mothers through labor and delivery. The birthing center provides patients access to doulas for labor and delivery and postpartum care.
At Frisbie Memorial Hospital, we believe that care shouldn't end after childbirth. Upon your return home, you may have questions or concerns regarding your newborn. Our staff is available to answer your questions, address any concerns or provide support during the postpartum period.
Our clinical coordinators will schedule a follow-up consultation with new mothers to check-in on the health of both mom and baby, as well as ensure we answer any questions you may have. In addition, the birthing center's nursing staff is available 24 hours a day if you need continued support.
Our clinical staff is trained to provide breastfeeding support. We will also provide access to a lactation consultant, who will offer continued support and encouragement before, during and after labor and delivery.
